CATALDO FAMILY RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS

SAUGUS, Massachusetts -- Cataldo Ambulance Service is pleased to announce that owners, Robert and Diana Cataldo of Saugus, have been presented with the Metropolitan Boston Emergency Medical Services Council, Inc. (MBEMSC) Erwin F. Hirsch MD Lifetime Achievement Award. The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual whose career and commitment to the field of EMS has consistently demonstrated vision, leadership and dedication.

Mr. and Mrs. Cataldo founded Cataldo Ambulance Service in August of 1977 with just one location and two vehicles. Throughout 33 years they have grown the operation into one of the largest private ambulance services in the Commonwealth. They have been responsible for the employment and training of thousands of dedicated EMTs and Paramedics during that time. It is these current and former employees, along with countless EMS industry leaders, who nominated the Cataldos for this great honor. Robert and Diana continuously strive to ensure their EMTs and Paramedics provide the best pre-hospital patient care possible by equipping ambulances with state of the art equipment and training.

While continually recognized for their focus on quality patient care and innovation, the Cataldo family has also set a high standard in their strong belief of giving back to the communities they serve. Each year, Cataldo Ambulance and their employees provide both monetary and volunteer support towards countless nonprofit organizations and charitable causes. Most notable is their dedication to the American Cancer Society, the Boy’s and Girl’s Club, Kiwanis International and Rotary International.

This well deserved Lifetime Achievement Award was announced just a short time after their son, Dennis Cataldo, Vice President of Cataldo Ambulance, was awarded the Hallmark Health Hero Award. In receiving this award, Dennis was recognized as a leader who demonstrates a commitment to the health and well being of the community and has contributed to the success and growth of Hallmark Health. Dennis also received the 2009 Region IV EMS Leader Award by the MBEMSC. As seen with this award, the original values created by Robert and Diana 33 years ago have been instilled in the next generation to allow Cataldo Ambulance Service to continue their tradition of innovation and charity for many years to come.
