NHL Players During Stanley Cup Playoffs
TD GARDEN, Boston - Monday's Game 6 win over the Canucks brought additional excitement into the Boston Garden but the excitement for Cataldo's EMTs and Paramedics began just 20 seconds into the game.
Vancouver Canucks forward Mason Raymond was injured during play and later ushered off the
ice with the assistance of his teammates. Cataldo Crews stood by as the Vancouver team
physician assessed Raymond. Once evaluated the Canucks Forward was transported by Cataldo Ambulance to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with a vertebrae compression fracture.
Raymond is looking at a recovery time of nearly three to four months with this injury from the Game 6 Stanley Cup finals match up.
Cataldo EMTs Deliver Important Care to Bruins Player, Nathan Horton
Raymond's injury comes just one week after Cataldo Paramedics carried Bruins Right Wing Nathan Horton off the ice by stretcher. Millions of fans watched anxiously as Cataldo Paramedics, Jason Pelletier and Keith Hodson, secured and stabilized Horton with the help of Boston Bruins team physicians. Horton was knocked unconscious after a controversial hit delivered by Canucks defenseman Aaron Rome. Upon review of the hit, it was clear Horton hit his head on the ice and remained immobile for several minutes while Cataldo's medical personnel attended to him. Horton will remain out of the playoffs while he recovers from a severe concussion. Cataldo Paramedics helped remove Horton from the ice and later transported him via ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation.
